The Steyr Arms DMR is built around two black aircraft-grade aluminum receivers, and a manually adjustable piston-driven gas system. Controls configuration is ambidextrous, largely based on the AR-15 setup, exception made for the charging handle, which runs over the barrel and can be reversed without tools for left-handed or right-handed operation.

The Steyr Arms DMR also comes with a machined aluminum M-LOK handguard for accessories and a full-length MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail for optics, doing without any iron sight of sorts. Also standard from factory is a Steyr Arms pistol grip, which can be removed and replaced with any aftermarket AR-15 compatible grip.

A buffer tube interface on the rear of the lower receiver allows the use of adjustable M4-type buttstocks. A folding hinge allows the stock to be folded to the right side to reduce the overall size of the Steyr Arms DMR for more convenient storage or transportation.

Despite the short barrel length – barely 33 cm / 13" – and despite weighing in at barely 3,9 kilograms (8.6 lbs approx.), the Steyr DMR semi-automatic rifle is advertised as capable of sub-MOA performance. The factory 30N trigger can be replaced with any AR-10 aftermarket trigger.

Standing at 815 mm / 32" in overall length with its stock unfolded and 654 mm / 25.39" with the stock folded, the Steyr Arms DMR semi-automatic rifle will also readily accept any AR-10/SR25 pattern magazine, of almost any make, material and capacity, making it even more versatile and desirable for a wide array of potential users.

Civilian sales of the Steyr Arms DMR semi-automatic rifle will begin in 2024. No official information concerning prices and availability concerning specific markets have been released so far; refer to your closest Steyr Arms distributor for all inquiries.
