The 2023 edition of SHOT Show, in Las Vegas, finally saw the official commercial debut of the  Glock 47 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol, also known as G47 for short: a “crossover” pistol design initially announced in 2019 when it was listed among the Glock pistols adopted by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the Customs and Border Protection. For almost four years, the G47 remained a DHS/CBP exclusive.

The Glock G47 pistol stands at 202 mm / 7.95” in overall length, yet its black polymer railed frame is the same as the Glock 45 and is thus slightly shorter; the slide protrudes frontally from the frame of about a half inch, giving the G47 a somewhat 1911-ish feel. For the rest, the G47 retains the familiar features of all 4th and 5th Generation Glocks: front and rear slide serrations, MOS optics-ready slide, interchangeable grip backstraps and no front finger grooves.

Other features of the Glock 47 include a 114 mm / 4.49” barrel; a 17-rounds magazine; a reversible magazine catch; and a factory ambidextrous slide stop.
