CZ announces the new Shadow 2 Compact 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol: a lighter, shorter-frame version of the well-known Shadow 2, the next greatest choice for IPSC competitions in the Production and Production Optics divisions
Officially announced on August 21, 2023, the CZ Shadow 2 Compact 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol is the latest and most compact entry in the CZ Shadow 2 series of handguns, a staple of CZ's production since 2016 and still today one of the most popular among practical shooting enthusiasts.
Standing at 191 mm / 7.51" in overall length, weighing in at 870 grams (1.91 lbs) when empty, and featuring a 102 mm / 4" barrel, the CZ Shadow 2 Compact still offers all the best features that made the Shadow 2 series so popular among IPSC and USPSA shooters, particularly in the Production, Production Optics, and Carry Optics divisions.
The CZ Shadow 2 Compact pistol is built around a 7076-T6 black anodized aluminum alloy frame that comes with a Picatinny rail for accessories, a set of Duraluminum grips, an ambidextrous manual safety, and a reversible catch for the 15-rounds magazine. The SA/DA trigger is extremely short and light, with its 15 to 46 Newton weight and its 3 to 5 millimeters of travel.
The blued stainless steel slide features a set of front and rear serrations, a fixed front post sight with a red fiber-optic insert, a serrated height-adjustable rear sight, and a protected modular interface for small-sized red dot sights.
Imbuing all the best of CZ's top-of-the-line competition pistols in a smaller, lighter design, the CZ Shadow 2 Compact will give its best both at the range and in more practical, real-life applications, such as in personal defense and tactical situations. Because a compact pistol doesn't necessarily need to underperform.
