Officially introduced on the US market at the beginning of 2024, the new Weatherby Sorix 12-gauge or 20-gauge semi-automatic shotgun was conceived to make hunting more user-friendly for everybody with a simple yet clever adaptability system.

Based on Weatherby's patented Inertia Recoil System, the Sorix semi-automatic hunting shotgun boasts another proprietary design feature – the Shift system – which allows the charging handle and cross-bolt safety to be easily reconfigured from right-hand to left-hand operation, making it easier to use by left-handed sportsmen.

Additionally, the competition-cut receiver – a peculiar feature for a hunting shotgun – allows easier access and operation to the loading gate and all those controls that can be reversed (such as the bolt release catch) by left-handed and right-handed shooters alike. Additionally, all controls on the Weatherby Sorix shotgun are oversized and the trigger guard has extra clearance for easier use when wearing gloves in the harshest climates and in the coldest hunting days of winter.

Available in 12-gauge with a 76mm / 3" or 89 mm / 3.½" chamber, or in 20-gauge with a 76mm / 3" chamber only, the Weatherby Sorix semi-automatic hunting shotgun is largely manufactured in Italy, and subsequently sent to Weatherby's headquarters in Sheridan, Wyoming, for final finishing before distribution.

The Weatherby Sorix offers an overall capacity of three rounds and a 71 cm / 28" barrel length in all configurations. Three variants are available, all different in finish: the Storm, Midnight Marsh and Slough all sport a Cerakote finish on the receiver and barrel and a hand-painted camo stock and handguard.

Standing at approximately 124 cm (49") in overall length and weighing in at 3,22 kg (7.1 lbs) in 12-gauge and 2,9 kg (6.5 lbs) in 20-gauge when empty, the Weatherby Sorix shotgun also sports a ventilated barrel rib, a fixed fiber-optic LPA front sight, and a drilled and tapped receiver for optics.

The Weatherby Sorix is compatible with Crio Plus interchangeable chokes and comes from factory with a set of five choke tubes (C, IC, M, IM, F) and a choke key.

MSRP for the Weatherby Sorix on the US market is set at $1,499.00; for informations concerning local availability and pricing, consult your closest authorized Weatherby dealer.
