This year, the Savage Arms company seems to be aiming to boost the growth of the Stevens brand, which has been used for many years for Savage Arms' own line of budget-priced, cost-effective hunting rifles and shotguns. After the Stevens 334 bolt-action rifle, it's time for the Stevens 560 Field 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun to reach the shelves of gun shops worldwide, in a standard and Field Compact versions – this last one essentially featuring a shorter length of pull.

First showcased at the 2023 edition of SHOT Show, the Stevens 560 Field semi-automatic hunting shotgun is manufactured in Turkey for Savage Arms by KOFS, a well respected manufacturer of fine hunting shotguns.

The Stevens 560 Field feeds through a reliable magazine tube that will hold up to five 12-gauge shotshells, with the capability to host a six round in chamber, and is built around a 7075-T6 black hard-anodized lightweight aluminum alloy receiver, featuring a black carbon steel, chrome-lined 66 cm / 26" or 71 cm / 28" barrel.

Both the stock and the handguard of the Stevens 560 Field are manufactured out of Turkish walnut and feature and aggressive slip-proof checkering on all contact surfaces; the buttstock comes from factory with a rubberized recoil pad.

The charging handle and disconnector button are oversized for more comfortable handling even in the longest, coldest winter hunting days, when wearing thick gloves isn't avoidable.

A manual safety is located at the rear of the trigger safety, and works by physically preventing the trigger from reaching the end of travel and releasing the sear.

Other features of the Stevens 560 Field and Field Compact shotguns include a 76mm / 3" chamber, allowing the use of standard or Magnum shotshells and making the 560 Field a viable choice for all hunting scenarios; a set of three interchangeable chokes (Improved Cylinder, Improved Modified, and Full) provided from factory; and a raised, ventilated rib with a fixed red fiber-optic front sight.
