Forjas Taurus S/A and Taurus International Mfg. introduce a new semi-automatic pistol for the true admirers of "God's Caliber": the polymer frame, hammer-fired, SA/DA TH45 model in .45 ACP offers quintessentially American knockdown power, a beefy 13-rounds magazine capacity, and affordable price

Officially released in north America back on July 7, 2023, the Taurus TH45 .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol is a new, affordably priced alternative for those shooters who are looking for a full-size handgun for home or property defense, personal protection, duty, or just plain and simple target shooting at the range that will offer the guaranteed stopping power of the tried and true .45 ACP.

Manufactured by Forjas Taurus S/A in Brazil and distributed by the US-based subsidiary of the group, known as Taurus International Manufacturing and headquartered in Bainbridge (Georgia), the TH45 is ideally the successor of the well-established PT-845, just as the entire TH ("Taurus Hammer") line is a replacement for the PT-800 series that had been on the market since its first introduction in 2008.

With its 4.2" (108 mm) barrel, and weighing in at 708 grams (27.8 oz.) when empty, the Taurus TH45 is definitely a full-size handgun, albeit not nearly as large nor as heavy as it could be, particularly considering the caliber.

The TH45 is a hammer-fired pistol, with a SA/DA trigger, and feeds through a double-stack metal magazine with a polymer elevator and floorplate, holding up to thirteen rounds of .45 ACP ammunition.

The TH45 is built around a black polymer frame with a "Combat"-style rounded trigger guard, an integral MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail for tactical accessories, and an ergonomically-designed grip with slip-proof inserts on most contact surfaces; a set of interchangeable backstraps is provided to adapt the TH45 to shooters of any and all hand sizes.

The magazine release catch, slide stop, manual safety and disassembly lever are all located on both sides of the frame: the new Taurus TH45 is completely ambidextrous right out of the box.

The black steel slide does not come with front serrations, nor with a micro red dot sight interface, which is pretty rare for a service and defensive pistol of modern manufacture. A set of Novak iron sights is dovetailed to the slide, and the barrel is both chrome-lined and chrome-finished on the outside for additional resistance.

The Taurus TH45 is currently available on the US market at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $529.00; for informations concerning local availability and pricing outside of north America, consult your local Taurus distributor.
