Kel-Tec CNC industries just announced the launch of the Kel-Tec SUB2000 Gen3 9mm Luger pistol-caliber carbine, dedicated to target shooting, home defense, property protection, and survival applications in the great outdoors.
Compared to the first and second generations of the design, the Gen3 SUB2000 carbines offer features such as a lighter, easier to rack bolt and a new handguard design.

Doing totally without any sort of iron sights, the Kel-Tec SUB2000 Gen3 carbine comes with a set of M-LOK slots on both sides of the handguard, a bottom MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail for tactical accessories, and a full-length top rail for optical sights.
A positive locking system and a twisting mount allows the handguard to be tilted to the side when the carbine is folded for transportation or storage, and prevents it from twisting when the firearm is deployed for use.
The new handguard design and twisting system allows the Kel-Tec SUB2000 Gen3 carbine to be stored with an optical sight, a laser or other sighting or tactical accessories permanently installed, without requiring re-zeroing after each use. Just like all other iterations of the design, the Kel-Tec SUB2000 Gen3 carbine can not be fired when folded.
Standing at 742 to 775 millimeters (29.25" to 30.45") in overall length when deployed depending on the position of the extendable polymer buttstock, the Kel-Tec SUB2000 Gen3 can be reduced to as little as 410,21 mm (16.15") when folded. The barrel is likewise 410 mm / 16.15" long overall, and features a 1:10" twist rate and a protected, threaded muzzle for flash hiders, muzzle brakes, or suppressors. Overall weight tops 1,9 kilograms (4.2 lbs) when empty.
