First globally launched in 2011, the TP9 line of semi-automatic, striker-fired, polymer frame pistols manufactured in Turkey by Canik Arms has since evolved into a true powerhorse on the global market, as their quality level evolved to reach some of the world’s highest and making it one of the favorites between civilian shooters, private security personnel and law enforcement officers in many, many countries.

Distributed in the United States by Century Arms, the Canik TP series of pistols is based on the tried and true Walther P99 pistol layout, and now includes SA/DA and DAO models, as well as long-slide and compact variants.

In July last year, the competition-oriented Canik TP9SFx pistol won the Handgun of the Year title at the 2017 2nd Annual Industry Choice Awards.

New for 2018 at the NSSF SHOT Show was the Canik TP9 Elite Combat model – a variant of the TP9 SF Elite compact model, conceived for both competition and tactical purposes.

Chambered in 9x19mm, the Canik TP9 Elite Combat features a 4.78” (12,14 cm) match-grade barrel with a 13.5x1mm left-hand threaded muzzle protected by a removable nut, allowing the installation of sound suppressors, silencers, or flash hiders.

The slide of the Canik TP9 Elite Combat features front and rear slide serrations and a Cerakote finish over nitride for durable resistant to abrasion and corrosion.

Warren Tactical raised suppressor sights and a slide cut-out with four separate interface plates allow the use of small-sized red dot sights. 15 rounds, 18+1 rounds or 10 rounds double-stack magazines are available.

Also featured are a new custom flat-faced trigger machined from billet aluminum, an ambidextrous slide stop, a reversible mag catch, and a railed polymer frame with interchangeable grip backstraps. Issued with each Canik TP9 Elite Combat are two magazines, a polymer holster, and a set of backstraps.
