IWA 2019 – Kimber of America confirms its commitment to European shooters by showcasing the latest entries in its handgun line: the K6s DASA revolver and the EVO-SP and Rapide pistols

Kimber K6s DASA

Kimber K6s DASA

For several years now, the Kimber K6s revolver is considered one of the best .357 Magnum personal defense handgun in the market.

Its latest variants is the Kimber K6s DASA: it comes with a fully exposed hammer, allowing manual cocking. The trigger weight ranges between approximately 4 kilograms (9.5 to 10.5 pounds) in double action and under 2 kilograms (3.25 to 4.25 pounds) in single action.

Hammer aside, the Kimber K6s DASA offers all the best features of the previous entries in the line: a 2-inch or 3-inch barrel for an overall weight of approximately 700 grams (25.1 oz) when empty, a full stainless steel construction with a captivating brushed finish, walnut grips and a set of white three-dot sights.

Kimber EVO SP

Kimber EVO SP

Coming to semi-automatic pistols, the Company showcased the Kimber EVO-SP subcompact, Kimber’s brand new striker-fired, concealed-carry oriented handgun, chambered in 9x19mm and feeding through 7-rounds single-stack magazines.

Built around an aluminum frame – departing from the standard use of polymer in this specific market segment – the Kimber EVO-SP is available in a brushed black or bi-tone finish and comes with a 8cm / 3.16” stainless steel, Match Grade Target Crown barrel and a set of TRU-GLO TFX sights. The Kimber EVO-SP ditches the manual safety, in favor of a “Glock-style” trigger safety and an overall trigger weight ranging between 1,8 and 2,2 kilograms (6 to 7 pounds). Grips are available in black Nylon or different styles of G10, including a “faux wood” red-brown option with diamond checkering.

Kimber Rapide

Kimber Rapide

Last, but not least, the Kimber Rapidefirst showcased at the SHOT Show – is the Company’s latest 1911 design variant, available in .45 ACP and 10mm Auto, and feeding through 8-rounds single-stack magazines. As its own name would imply, the Kimber Rapide is engineered for speed, and as such, it features three rows of lightening cuts on the front portion of the slide to speed up cycling.

Other features of the Kimber Rapide pistol include a set of TRU-GLO TFX Pro sights and a stainless steel Match Grade barrel with a titanium nitride outer finish and a stainless steel bushing. The single-action trigger release is set to approximately two kilograms in weight (4/5 lbs); the trigger is an aluminum V-Cut, the hammer is skeletonized and the frame safety is ambidextrous.
