Established in Livonia (Michigan) back in 1992, Leapers is a company dedicated to the manufacturing and marketing of accessories and optics for hunting and sport shooting. It’s no exaggeration to consider Leapers a global leader in the field, at least as far as its market share is considered: Leapers manufactures everything, and we mean everything, when it comes to firearm accessories.

The civilian market has always been the focus of the company’s business. The Leapers catalog includes countless accessories and optics for hunting, sporting, and defensive firearms which as the years went by gained a global market share due to their price tag: and because of this, Leapers soon became very popular among communities such as air gun shooters, airsoft skirmishers and MIL-SIM enthusiasts.

However, such a growth also had a drawback, in that Leapers earned somewhat of a reputation as a mere distributor of poorly made “Chineesium” products. A mindset that would require a solid re-evaluation, indeed, given the general quality of Chinese-manufactured products and components, which are today used by many top tier brands as well.

By the way, while it’s true that a generous portion of the Leapers accessories is made in Asia – in company owned manufacturing plants, such as the products sold under the UTG brand, which designates Leapers’ “budget-priced” market options (which by no means “low-quality”) – it’s also true that all of the Leapers and UTG products have always been designed and engineered in the USA: because Leapers Inc is a US company.

And yet, the vast and continued success of UTG brand products, recently spurred Leapers to revise the positioning of some of their product lines, such as the optics, a field where Leapers has a lot of experience.

By taking advantage of the high-end manufacturing technologies that Leapers owns and runs in the United States, the company is now capitalizing on its solid knowledge of the market, conceiving some extremely interesting products.

So, while the UTG accesories lines still exist because of their quality/price ratio, being a riflescopes manufacturer today Leapers also offers higher-end optics, following the substantial market growth of the past few years. That’s the case of the new Integrix riflescope series, entirely engineered and manufactured by Leapers.

The Integrix brand designates Leapers’ line of top-tier optics, conceived for higher-end uses, including law enforcement and private security applications.

First introduced in 2022 for the 30th anniversary of the foundation of Leapers, Inc., and subsequently expanded at the 2023 and 2024 editions of trade shows such as SHOT Show and IWA, the Integrix line currently includes models with a first focal plan etched reticle: the iX8 1-8×28 low-power variable optic (LPVO); the iX4 3-12x50, iX6 2-12x36 and iX6 3-18×44 riflescopes for mid-to-long range shooting; the iX6 4.5-27×56 MRAD and the iX6 6-36x56 MIL riflescope, for extreme long range shooting.

All of the Integrix riflescopes are built around 34mm single-piece machined aircraft-grade aluminum alloy tubes, providing more room to the inner workings of the scopes and thus allowing for a wider adjustment range of the reticle. As a matter of fact, no Integrix riflescope offers an elevation adjustment range that’s under 100 MOA (with the sole exception of the iX8 1-8×28 LPVO, with its “mere” 90 MOA elevation adjustment range), matching levels that as of today were the sole purview of top-tier products by internationally recognized big brands.

Key optical components of the Integrix riflescopes, chiefly the lenses, are manufactured out of special optical glass sourced by specialized companies such as Schott (Germany) or Ohara Corp. (Japan); those multi-coated lenses provide optimal scratch resistance, protection against dirt, minimization of glare and reflection, and an extremely high light transmission rate at 92%. The Integrix riflescopes are simply striking in their levels of high contrast resolution and edge-to-edge clarity all across their wide-angle field of view.

Other features of the Integrix riflescopes include intuitive push-pull lockable and zero-resettable windage and elevation turrets, offering predictable, tactile, and audible click values for more accurate adjustment. The turrets, the power ring and the eyepiece diopter are serrated and optimized for use with gloves, and a factory-issued throw lever can be attached to the extremely smooth, consistent and accurate power ring for easier adjustment. Most importantly, eye relief remains constant all through the zoom curve.

All the Integrix series riflescopes are IPX7-certified waterproof, certified to withstand recoil up to .338 Lapua Magnum levels with a  -40°C/+70°C (-40°F to 160°F) operational range, feature a green or red reticle illumination with a 12-hours automatic shutoff system, and are guaranteed for life.

Given the quality levels, making them viable for professional uses, and their price ranging between £$1,399.00 and $2,499.00 on the US market, the Integrix riflescopes are solidly positioned on the mid-to-high market tier.

ACCUSHOT PRO riflescopes

However, in order to meet the demands of a broader range of customers, in 2023 Leapers launched the Accushot Pro line of riflescopes dedicated chiefly to sport shooting competitions.

With a look similar to the Integrix riflescopes, the Accushot Pro models are built around single-piece 34mm alloy tubes and feature first focal plan, MOA-based etched reticles, with a green or red illumination adjustable on eight or ten different levels depending on the model.

The Leapers Accushot Pro line currently counts three entries: the AS6 1-6×24 LPVO; the AS3 3-9×36 for short-to-mid range hunting and sport shooting; and the AS4 3-12×44 for longer ranges. Like the Integrix line, the Accushot Pro riflescopes feature multi-coated lenses offering a 90% light transmission level and lockable, return-to-zero turrets.

Other features of the Leapers Accushot Pro riflescopes will vary depending on the model, designed with a few simplifications compared to the Integrix line to match a lower price tag and remain affordable for a higher number of sport shooters while still offering a good level of quality and value.

Leapers is on an interesting path of growth and renewal that is yielding important results, as demonstrated by the warm market welcome of the Integrix and Accushot Pro riflescopes and as confirmed by Margaret Din, Marketing Director at Leapers, in a recent meeting with GUNSweek.com at the 2024 edition of IWA.

It may take some time for the traditionalists to separate themselves from their view of Leapers as a “Chineesium” company. But other companies in the past have shown that they could do better, completely revolutionizing their public image and reputation.

Leapers has 30-plus years of experience in the field of accessories and optics – their first product, back in 1992, was a 4x riflescope – and today the Integrix and Accushot Pro lines have the potential to revolutionize the way the Leapers brand is looked at and its position on the global market.

Of course, we don't expect readers to take our word for it, certain things need to be checked in person. From what we can say based on our quick, first-hand experience with the Integrix and Accushot scopes at the 2024 editions of SHOT Show and IWA, our judgment so far is positive. But we’ll be looking forward to verifying that on the field.
