SHOT Show 2020 – New from Walther, the Q4 Steel Frame pistols series adds the sturdiness and the stability of a solid metal frame to the reliability of the Walther striker fired handgun system, with an optics-ready option also available
New for 2020 from Walther, the Q4 Steel Frame semi-automatic pistol is built around a precision-machined steel frame, providing a whole new feel to the Company's familiar striker-fired handgun design.
The steel frame was engineered to properly distribute 40 ounces (1,13 kg) of weight to drastically reduce felt recoil, improving performance. The distribution of the overall weight creates a superb balance in hand allowing the shooter to take advantage of the triggers short reset capability.
The frame of the Walther Q4 Steel Frame also offers a high-grade grip geometry and texture, with high ergonomics and features such as a reversible over-sized magazine release button, recessed ambidextrous slide release, and almost flawless balance in hand result to provide a natural point-of aim.
The Q4 Steel Frame features Performance Duty Texture, developed by Walther to provide a premium, yet functional grip. The aggressive Performance Duty Texture, with its tetrahedron design, is non-abrasive, and no irritation to the shooter's skin or friction-related damage to the shooter's clothing, despite offering one of the firmest grips on the market.
Available only in 9mm Luger as of today, the Walther Q4 Steel Frame pistol is 7.4" (18,79 cm) long overall with a 4-inch barrel, and feeds through detachable 15-rounds magazines. Other features of the Q4 Steel Frame pistol include Walther's signature Quick Defense trigger and a Duty Optimized Beavertail, encouraging the shooter to adopt a higher grip – which in turn contributes to the steel frame's excellent job in reducing felt recoil. The Duty Optimized Beavertail design is optimized for duty retention holsters, providing clearance for retention hoods used in most law enforcement gear.
The Walther Q4 Steel Frame pistol is also available in an Optics-Ready version, featuring LPA sights and a removable protective plate on the top rear portion of the slide to reveal an attachment interface for small-sized pistol reflex sights.
