Taurus USA introduces the new 9mm Luger GX4 Carry pistol: a mid-sized version of the GX4 series, conceived for both concealed and open carry personal defense uses

Taurus USA, the north American branch of the Brazilian Forjas Taurus group, has yet another new product ready for late 2023: after the Judge Home Defender revolver introduced back in mid-September, it's time for the Taurus GX4 Carry 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol, the third entry in the series of polymer-frame, striker-fired GX4 pistols after the Taurus GX4 and the GX4-XL launched in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

While the baseline GX4 is a micro-compact and the GX4 XL is a cross-over design, the new Taurus GX4 Carry is a pure compact, standing in at 16,2 cm / 6.4" in overall length; 13 cm / 5.15" in height; 2,7 cm / 1.08" in width; weighing in at approximately 610 grams (21.51 oz) when unloaded; and sporting a 7,7 cm / 3.06" barrel with six right-handed grooves and a 1:10" twist rate.

The dimensions of the Taurus GX4 Carry make it more comfortable to operate by bigger-handed shooters, still very easy to carry concealed and also pretty apt for open carry and duty purposes by the likes of local law enforcement and private security personnel.

The Taurus GX4 Carry pistol is built around a black polymer frame with a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail for tactical accessories under the dust cover, a signature indexing and Recoil Management Pad (RMP), and an ergonomic grip with interchangeable backstraps; a left-side only slide stop and an ambidextrous magazine release catch. Other features include a single-action only trigger, 10- or 15-rounds double-stack magazines, and a machined gas nitrided black alloy steel slide with front and rear serrations, a fixed front sight, a drift-adjustable rear sight, and a visual loaded chamber indicator.

The GX4 Carry also features the Taurus T.O.R.O. ("Taurus Optic Ready Option") modular interface system, allowing the use of over ten popular micro red dot sights via four interchangeable mounting plates.

The Taurus GX4 Carry semi-automatic pistol is available on the US market at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $504.99; for information concerning availability and price outside of the United States, reach out to your closest authorized Taurus importer.
