With the adoption of a new solar power system for its headquarters, in excess of 130 kWp in power, Sabatti Spa makes a resolute turn towards a sustainable model of production

The Sabatti S.p.A. company – one of Italy’s best-known manufacturers of bolt-action rifles and shotguns for hunting, sport shooting and professional applications, with three centuries of experience in gun making – announces a new turning point in its long tradition of technological innovation and push to progress and development: in a Green direction.

The installation of a new 130 kWp solar power system on the Sabatti HQ building paves the way towards a vast transition of the Italian civilian gun making industry as a whole towards a climatically and energetically sustainable model of production.

The Sabatti photovoltaic plant is technologically advanced, but mosst of all, is a good example of managerial ability for the whole Valtrompia, still quite behind in the adoption of renewable energy solutions, in respect of other European countries..

The Sabatti photovoltaic plant is technologically advanced, but mosst of all, is a good example of managerial ability for the whole Valtrompia, still quite behind in the adoption of renewable energy solutions, in respect of other European countries..

An energy transition, the one started by Sabatti, already ongoing in other sectors of the big Industry, but not yet in the more common family-owned realities that still characterize large part of the Italian gun manufacturing segment of the Brescian industrial district, where the Sabatti example will probably act as an accelerating impulse. In part also thanks to the incentives provided by the development program planned by the current Draghi government, aimed at recuperating the delay by which Italy is moving into this direction in respect of many other leading industrial countries.

The works were contracted to two specialized companies headquartered in northern Italy – F.lli Cafferati of Lograto (BS) and Solarplay Industry S.r.l. of Lissone (MB) – and saw the installation of 345 Trina Solar HC 375 Wp monocrystalline solar modules, each with two SolarEdge SE 55,2 kWp inverters, and 173 SolarEdge P800 optimizer: state-of-the-art technology for sustainable power consumption, in line with the current trend towards renewable energy and reduction of emissions.

The contractors also proceeded to renew the roof of the Sabatti S.p.A. headquarters – 1.350 mq / 14.531 sq. ft. overall – by removing the old asbestos layer and replacing it with a set of special fireproof sheathing and a new trapezoidal metal cover with mineral wool insulation layers.

The implementation of the new solar power system is just the latest of the many steps undertaken by Sabatti towards a full renewal of the Company, its image, and its organization – ranging from the introduction of new products to the improvement of quality and performance all through its product line, as well as to the adoption of cutting-edge manufacturing technology. The rigorous and integrated adoption of renewable and sustainable sources is, and will be, the keystone of Sabatti’s improvement plans for years to come.

Company notes

The Sabatti family is active in the gun making industry since little less than 400 years. Passed down from father to son, from generation to generation, all the acquired experiences have not been lost, and are instead what today provides quality to the Sabatti production.

Sabatti is a leader in the manufacturing of top-class rifle barrels, whose excellent performances make them highly appreciated all over the World, by gun manufactures as well as by the most demanding sport shooters and professionals.

Except for the stocks, all components of every Sabatti gun are manufactured inside the company, using the best available technologies and materials, and a “know-how” which quite few international companies can boast nowadays.
