New from Vortex Optics for 2024, the Vortex Defender-ST micro red dot sight – available in 3 MOA and 6 MOA dot versions – expands the Vortex Defender line of micro red dot sights with a new, compact and lightweight all-purpose model designed for everything, from handguns to shotguns, from pistol-caliber carbines to piggybacking on LPVOs mounted on modern sporting or patrol rifles.

The Vortex Defender-ST, with its single-piece black anodized 7075-T6 housing, is definitely built to last; a Fast-Rack textured front face, adding grip for racking the slide against any surface, and an improved Shockshield polymer insert to protect against recoil and hard, daily abuse, are paired with a large, aspherical lens for distortion-free sight picture and truer colors.

Two recessed turrets allow the center dot to be adjusted for windage on a 145 MOA range and on a 115 MOA range for elevation; a motion sensor activates the center dot, whose brightness can be adjusted on ten different levels (two of which are NVG-compatible) via two side-mounted rubberized buttons.

The Defender-ST is powered by a single CR2032 battery; the battery compartment is located on the top of the housing and protected by a screw-on cap, allowing replacement without requiring the removal of the sight from whatever firearm it's installed on.

Standing at 4,7 cm (1.83") in overall length and weighing in at barely 42 grams (1.48 oz), the Vortex Defender-ST has a Deltapoint Pro footprint and comes issued with a Glock MOS adapter plate and a Picatinny mount.
