O.F. Mossberg & Sons – one of America's best known names in modern shotgun manufacturing – announces the launch of the Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun: a brand new entry in the Mossberg 940 line, specifically conceived as a law enforcement, tactical, and practical shooting machine with a plethora of extremely interesting, market-leading features.

The Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical shotgun is based on a redesigned gas-operated piston that's more efficient, faster, and cleaner than its predecessors: thanks to the Nickel-Boron coating – which by the way it shares with other key components of the 940 Pro Tactical, such as the hammer, sear, and magazine tube – the new gas piston will allow for up to 1500 rounds between cleanings.

The magazine tube of the Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical shotgun offers a capacity of seven shells – eight overall with an additional shell in the 76mm/3" chamber – and is accompained by other features that make reloading and feeding easier and more efficient, such as an enlarged, beveled loading port; a blaze orange anodized follower; and an elongated, pinch-free elevator.

The functionality of the Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical semi-automatic shotgun is maximized by a set of oversized, knurled, ergonomic controls – more specifically the charging handle, top tang-mounted sliding safety, and bolt release button – and by a receiver cuts protected by a removable plate that accepts low-profile direct mounting of Shield RMSc-pattern micro dot sights.

The stock and handguard of the Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical shotgun are manufactured out of black polymer; a set of spacers and shims allow shooters to adjust the length of pull, drop at comb and cast of the buttstock.

The 469 mm / 18.5" long steel barrel is fitted with a fixed red fiber-optic front sight, and is threaded to use Mossberg's own Accu-Choke interchangeable chokes system. A removable cylinder tube choke comes issued.

A removable, synthetic dual barrel clamp with swivel stud and dual-sided M-LOK compatibility slots allows for easy customization and installation of tactical accessories or slings. A rear sling swivel is integrated in the buttstock.

The new Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical semi-automatic shotgun is 952 mm / 37.5" long overall, and weighs in at a convenient 3,4 kg / 7.5 lbs whyen empty. All outer metal surfaces are coated in matte black; other key components are coated to offer a superior level of resistance against corrosion and wear, for consistent reliability shot after shot, either at the range or on the field.

Manufacturer's suggested retail price for the Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical shotgun is set at $1,120.00 in the United States.
