As our followers may know, while short-barrel rifles are legally considered either handguns or rifles by law in most European Countries, in the United States they fall within the provisions of the 1934 National Firearms Act and their acquisition and possession is subject to a Federal authorization. That's the reason why many gunmakers decided to offer their short barrel rifles on the U.S. market in an NFA-compliant version with a short barrel and an armbrace, which legally classifies them as handguns. The new variants of the CZ Scorpion EVO platform showcased at the 2018 SHOT Show fall into this category.

The new Scorpion EVO 3 S2 Pistol Micro with Brace features a 4-inch barrel and HB Industries short handguard; this diminutive Scorpion is the result of our development of a smaller, suppressed Scorpion for an undercover drug interdiction unit. With a collapsed length just over 16 inches, the new EVO 3 S2 Pistol Micro features a SilencerCo NoOsprey faux suppressor and a telescoping SB Tactical arm brace for additional stabilization, making this one potent little package.

Also featured are CZ's own low-profile iron sights – the rear sight specifically offering four different aperture sizes. The sights ride on a top Picatinny rail perfect for mounting optics. With a 1/2×28 threads hidden underneath the factory flash-hider, users can fit either 1/2×28 or 18×1 accessories to the muzzle. All controls are ambidextrous, the non-reciprocating charging handle is swappable and the trigger reach is adjustable.

Caliber is 9mm Luger, feeding through standard Scorpion EVO magazines.

The CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 Pistol with Flash Can and Folding Brace is a legally-classified-as-pistol variant of the CZ Scorpion 3 S1 carbine. It comes factory-equipped with a folding SB Tactical arm brace, a 7.7" pistol barrel and a 5" KAK Flash Can that can be removed and replaced with pistol suppressors thanks to dual threads of 18×1 and 1/2×28at the muzzle. The CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 Pistol with Flash Can and Folding Brace lacks the ¾" sling slot on the left side of the action that is present on earlier variants.
