Steyr Arms announces a limited edition of the Steyr Monobloc bolt-action hunting rifle: the new Monobloc ARMAD, chambered in .270 Winchester, will be built in 70 samples and feature a barreled action in ARMAD steel, the same used for the manufacture of Leopard 2A7 tank cannons!

Steyr Arms will build only 70 Monobloc ARMAD bolt-action hunting rifles, featuring am Aubert & Duval ARMAD steel barreled action

The Steyr Arms GmbH company of Austria – previously known as "Steyr-Mannlicher" – recently announced the launch of a limited production version of their Monobloc bolt-action hunting rifle, which made its first debut in early 2019: the new Steyr Monobloc ARMAD will be manufactured in just 70 samples, in .270 Winchester only and offering an overall capacity of four rounds in the magazine and one in chamber.

What tells the new Monobloc ARMAD apart from other variants of Steyr's Monobloc rifle is the manufacturing: the entire barreled action bloc will be made out of Aubert & Duval ARMAD steel, a Chrome-Moly-Vanadium alloy (32CrMoV12-10) conceived for small arms and light weapons but chiefly used for the manufacture of the 120mm cannons found on the Leopard 2A7 main battle tanks.

The high purity of ARMAD steel, together with its unique micrographic structure, ensures an even harder and longer lasting barrel with maximum temperature resistance.

The new Steyr Monobloc ARMAD bolt-action hunting rifle is 102 cm / 40.3" long overall, features a 50,8 cm / 20" barrel and weighs in at 3,6 kg / 7.9 lbs when empty.

The Steyr Monobloc ARMAD rifle will be available with a black synthetic or Grade VI wood stock, a set of aluminum betting blocks for additional stability and accuracy and comfortable and stylish leather lining on all contact surfaces – grip, handguard, and cheek riser.

Steyr Arms still hasn't published any information concerning availability and pricing for the Monobloc ARMAD limited edition bolt-action hunting rifle on any market. Prospective buyers should contact their local Steyr Arms distributor for further information; we at GUNSweek.com will however keep our readers posted about any updates, which are likely to come in early 2023, so stay tuned with us!
