New from Ruger at the 2018 SHOT Show is the EC9s, a pocket-sized semi-automatic pistol conceived for concealed carry and personal defense and a budget-priced counterpart of the Company's own, well-established LC9.

The new Ruger EC9s is a striker-fired pistol feeding through a single-stack metal magazine holding 7+1 rounds of 9mm Luger ammunition; it is built around a glass-filled nylon grip-frame assembly and a barrel and steel machined from alloy steel and protected by a corrosion-resistant black oxide finish. The barrel is 3.1 inch (7.8 cm) long, and features six right-hand grooves with a 1:10" twist. Overall length is merely 6 inches (15.2 cm).

The Ruger EC9s features an integrated trigger safety, a manual thumb safety, a chamber view port for a quick chamber check, and a magazine disconnect.

Sights are integrally machined to the slide and feature glare-reducing serrations on their rear face.

Other features include a short, clean trigger pull and a textured grip frame for enhanced control. A floorplate extension to the magazine allows owners to get a full grip on the pistol. The retail price is set at $299.00 in the United States, thus giving the Ruger EC9s a decisive edge on the competition.
