It has been vastly anticipated in the past weeks, and we finally saw it in person at the Las Vegas 2018 SHOT Show: the Glock 19X is the latest service and defensive semi-automatic pistol offered by the great Austrian gunmaker.

The Glock 19X is the commercial variant of the pistol that the company submitted for the MHS trials – later won by the SIG Sauer P320. The Glock 19X combines the frame of the Glock 17 and the slide of the Glock 19 in a crossover size for almost all conditions and situations.

This Glock 19X pistol model comes in Coyote Tan color with the first-ever factory colored slide: an improved nPVD slide coating prevents corrosion, resists chemicals, and stands up against the elements.

The pistol includes self luminescent rear and front sight as well as a standard double-stack magazine holding 17 rounds of 9mm Luger ammunition; two 17+2-rounds magazines are also issued, along with a coyote-colored pistol case.

Among the additional design features of the G19X are the GLOCK Marksman Barrel (GMB) which delivers increased accuracy with enhanced polygonal rifling and an improved barrel crown, no finger grooves, ambidextrous slide stop levers for better versatility, and a lanyard loop that allows the use of a retention lanyard to a non-flared standard-size pistol grip. While the original MHS trial Glock featured a manual ambidextrous safety, the Glock 19X has not.
