The upcoming return of the "Snake" series of revolvers with the launch of the Colt Cobra is not all that Colt had to announce at the 2017 edition of the SHOT Show. New from the company, and arriving soon in stores, are also two versions of the legendary 1911 pistol platform.

Concealed carry license holders will be happy to know that a long-shelved design – the compact-sized Colt Combat Commander pistol, which originally went out of production in 1998 – is coming back for 2017.

The new iteration of the Colt Combat Commander will be available in 9mm Luger and .45 ACP variants, is entirely manufactured in carbon blued steel and offers new features such as a dual-spring recoil system, wide-angled cocking serrations, and Novak LoMount sights, as well as an upswept beavertail grip safety, an undercut trigger guard, and Colt G10 grips.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the new Colt Combat Commander has been announced at $949.00 for the United States; there is no available information about export pricing so far.

Also new for 2017 is a Colt Delta Elite "Rail Gun" version of the standard Delta Elite pistol, another Colt classic that was recently brought back following the rekindled popularity of the 10mm Auto caliber.

The Colt Delta Elite Rail Gun sports an all stainless steel, an upswept bravertail grip safety, extended thumb safety, composite grip panels, and Novak sights.

The new Colt Delta Elite differs – ditto – from the baseline model by the presence of a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny accessory rail under the frame. The suggested retail price for the U.S. has been set at $1299, with no word yet on international export pricing.

Available in .45 ACP, 9x19mm and .38 Super Auto, the new Colt Gold Cup Trophy pistol sports a brushed stainless finish, with a five-inch barrel and 25 LPI checkering on the grips.

Shipped with one 8-rounds magazine and one 9-rounds magazine in either of the three calibers,

Colt's new Gold Cup Trophy pistol also features the company’s trademarked Series 70 firing system. MSRP has been set at $1,699 for the United States; no word on exports so far.
