The Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 Performance Center Competitor 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol is the latest creation from Smith & Wesson's highly regarded Performance Center, the Company's custom shop, which has built itself a name and a solid base of respect for preparing some of Smith & Wesson's stock pistols, revolvers, and rifles into highly performing competition platforms.

This time, the Performance Center focused its efforts on the Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 Metal pistol, the first ever entry in the wildly successful Smith & Wesson line of striker-fired defensive and duty pistols to feature a machined 7075-T6 lightweight aluminum alloy frame instead of a polymer frame.

Smith & Wesson's Performance Center Competitor pistol is built around the M&P-9 M2.0 Metal's frame, with all its key feature: a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail for tactical accessories; a reversible over-sized magazine release; a  flat face trigger, providing for consistent finger placement and more accurate, repeatable shooting; an enhanced sear for lighter, crisper trigger let-off; and an optimal 18-degree grip angle for natural point. The only difference, here is the addition of a flared magazine well for faster reloads.

Things really change when it comes to the slide and barrel, both manufactured out of stainless steel and available in either black Armornite or tungsten grey Cerakote versions.

The new Smith & Wesson M&P-9 M2.0 Performance Center Competitor pistol features a 127 mm / 5" long barrel and a lengthened slide with a setn of deep side and top lightening cuts that help compensate muzzle climb while at the same time speeding up cycling time for quicker follow-up shots. The Performance Center Competitor slide features forward serrations with new aesthetics, a serratedn blacked-out rear sight, a green fiber-optic front sight, and a modular optics interface cut that will accept most many of the world's most common and popular micro red dot sights.

Other features of the Performance Center Competitor pistol include a low barrel bore axis for more comfortable shooting, reduced muzzle rise and faster return to target; and the Smith & Wesson M&P's patented take-down lever and sear deactivation systems, allowing for disassembly without pulling the trigger.
