Savage Arms introduces the Stance 9mm micro-compact selfloading pistol: conceived for personal and home protection and for concealed carry, it is the first defensive handgun to bear the Savage Arms brand in almost a Century!

Just announced, the Savage Arms Stance 9mm semi-automatic pistol may at a first glance look like "just another" striker-fired, polymer frame pistol launched in the past decade on the commercial market in the United States, which have been witnessing a sharp rise in numbers of concealed carry license holders ever since the D.C. Vs. Heller ruling of 2008.

In reality, the Savage Arms Stance is the first semi-automatic pistol since 1928, when the Model 1917 pistol, the last variant of the Savage 1907 pistol, was pulled from the company's catalogue.

Chambered in .32 ACP and .380 ACP, the Savage 1907 and its variants enjoyed good commercial success in the early 20th Century, being also adopted by the famous Pinkerton Agency. Some features that were nothing short of revolutionary at the time – including a striker-fired operation with a manual cocking lever and a double-stack magazine design offering a staggering (at the time) capacity of ten rounds in .32 and nine rounds in .380 – helped the Savage 1907 design to secure limited military sales during World War I, particularly to France and Portugal.

A prototype version of the Savage 1907 design chambered in .45 ACP and feeding through a single-stack 8-rounds magazine was also submitted to the 1906-1911 US Military trials that were to choose a new semi-automatic sidearm; the Savage prototype ranked among the two finalists – the other being Colt's entry, which would be adopted as the M1911.

The Savage Arms Stance perfectly fits the industry standards and the current market trends for micro-compact concealed carry pistols, featuring a standard Browning-type tilting-barrel lock, a striker-fired operation and 9mm Luger chambering.

Standing at 15,2 cm / 6.2" in overall length with a 7,6 cm / 3.2" stainless steel barrel and weighing in at 620 grams (1.36 lbs) when empty, the Savage Arms Stance is compact, lightweight, and offers a capacity of seven, eight, or ten rounds in single-stack metal magazines available with polymer buttplates and extensions.

The Savage Arms Stance features stainless steel slide with a full matte black nitride finish, with front and rear serrations for easier manual cocking. The pistol comes with a standard set of dovetailed fixed three-dots front and rear sights; variants with TruGlo night sights are also available.

The frame of the Savage Arms Stance is manufactured out of glass-filled nylon and comes in black, grey, or flat dark earth variants. A black version with a built-in, manually-activated red laser sight manufactured by Viridian Weapon Technologies is available as an optional.

The Savage Arms Stance is a fully ambidextrous weapon, with the magazine release catch and the slide stop release lever located on both sides.

The well-rounded trigger is crisp, with a short reset. An overtravel stop is integrated to the frame body right behind the trigger, providing for quicker, positive reset and faster shooting. The trigger group is housed in a self-contained, removable stainless-steel chassis inside the polymer frame.

Versions with a frame-mounted ambidextrous manual safety lever also exist for those users who prefer additional peace of mind when carrying with a round chamber, or for sale in those jurisdictions where a manual safety are required.

Each Savage Arms Stance pistol comes from factory with two magazines – a 7-rounds and an 8-rounds mag – and with two interchangeable 18° grip backstraps, allowing users to adapt the grip size to their hands and specific ergonomics.

In such a crowded market such as that for micro-compact concealed carry pistols, the Savage Arms stands out for the popularity of its brand and for its price-to-quality ratio, coming at a manufacturer's suggested price of $479.00 in the United States.
