Dan Wesson Firearms – a Colt-CZ Group brand – introduces the Heirloom 2022 .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol: a limited production, collector's edition 1911 variant that celebrates the Dan Wesson heritage in elegance and style!
Dan Wesson Firearms is a historical US firearms manufacturer, best known for its super solid line of modular double-action revolvers from the 1970s and 1980s, designed by former Colt engineer Karl R. Lewis, the man behind the abortive XM148 40mm underslung grenade launcher, the forefather of the now ubiquitous M203.
In 2005, Dan Wesson Firearms was acquired by CZ Group (now Colt-CZ Group) and has since shifted its core business from revolvers to mid-to-high-grade 1911-type semi-automatic pistols for personal defense and competition shooting. The brand first introduced the "Heirloom" line of pistols in 2020, with a new edition each year to celebrate the heritage of Dan Wesson Firearms.
The Dan Wesson Heirloom 2022 .45 ACP pistol is the third iteration of the Heirloom series, a truly unique creation in form and looks, to be manufactured in an extremely limited quantity for a restricted group of lucky connoisseurs.
The Dan Wesson Heirloom 2022 is basically a .45 ACP caliber 1911A1 full-size variant, feeding through standard 7-rounds or 8-rounds single-stack magazines and featuring a Match-grade 5" barrel. All controls are standard and non-ambidextrous, with a frame-mounted manual safety located only on the left side of the frame. The grip safety is however slightly higher in profile, with an extended beavertail for additional shooting comfort.
Both the slide and the frame are machined out of solid steel, and feature a full bronze PVD finish, elegant and captivating and yet very tough and made to last, protecting the pistol even under the harshest conditions of use. An intricate engraved floral scrollwork embelishes the frame and slide on both sides.
Grip panels are manufactured out of black G10, rounding out this traditional pistol while adding a secure gripping surface; black accents on the small parts and mainspring housing further characterize this pistol.
The Dan Wesson Heirloom 2022 pistol features a U-notch beavertailed rear sight and a brass bead front post sight, aesthetically in line with the overall look of the pistol while at the same time remaining perfectly usable.
Standing in at 219 mm / 8.65" in overall weight and weighing in at 1,13 kg / 40 oz when empty, the Dan Wesson Heirloom 2022 is the perfect pistol for the discerning collector who wants to be captivated by its impeccable level of attention to every detail while at the same time being left with a pistol that he, or she, should never be afraid to shoot – and boy, does it perform!
The Dan Wesson Heirloom 2022 pistol is sold on the US market at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $2,399.00; for further information concerning your local availability and pricing, consult your local dealer.
