CZ P-10 C semi-automatic pistol: Czech polymer goodness!

IWA 2017 - First announced in late 2016 and first showcased at the SHOT Show, CZ's eagerly anticipated polymer frame, striker-fired pistol was finally showcased to the European public in Nuremberg

To make things clear: unlike what many sources state, the CZ P10C is not the Company's first take to a striker-fired, polymer frame pistol. In the late 1990s, the Czech gunmaker launched the CZ 100, a firearm that was technically sound, but not just as well received by the market as many others that came along later.

Now the Company is trying again, and looks like they have a winner: fit for all imaginable purposes – from personal defense to home protection, from target shooting and training to competition and service – the P10C is in line with the highly successful P-07 in terms of ergonomics: CZ's typical grip angle, a mild palm swell, a deep beavertail, three interchangeable backstraps, and an aggressive slip-proof grip texture make the new P10C comfortable to handle and extremely controllable to fire for all shooters. The use of sheet metal magazines – holding up to 16 rounds of 9mm or 14 rounds of .40 Smith & Wesson ammunition – helps the design to maintain a slim grip profile.

The CZ P10C is 18,7 cm (7.3") long overall, comes with a 4-inch barrel and weighs barely 760 grams (26 oz.) when empty.
Both the slide and barrel are finished with a very tough protective layer that provides an even superior degree of resistance to corrosion and other types of damage; the slide fits fixed, albeit replaceable, three-dot sights, and the trigger system comes with redundant automatic safeties, including a striker stop safety.

The fibre-reinforced polymer frame – featuring a distinctive checkering where it counts for handling and control – is, so far, available in black and desert tan variants. The interchangeable grip backstraps are available in three sizes (S, M and L) for superior ergonomics and comfort. All controls (magazine catch, slide stop and disassembly lever) are ambidextrous.

Distribution of the P10C in north America is due to kick off soon, with first shipments currently on their way to authorized CZ distributors in the United States, while the European market shall receive the new CZ pistol later on in 2017.
