Sightmark Citadel 1-10x24 HDR

The Sightmark Citadel 1-10x24 HDR riflescope is one of the best choices around for those who practice hunting or sport shooting at short to mid range.

The Sightmark Citadel 1-10x24 HDR riflescope offers a second focal plane illuminated hunter dot reticle (HDR) with 11 brightness settings, 10x optical system, capped low-profile turrets and ½-MOA per click windage and elevation adjustability with a total adjustment range on each axis of 100 MOA. The riflescope comes with a throw lever for easy magnification adjustments and front and back flip-up caps.

Its 1x to 10x magnification factor and the glass etched, second focal plane Hunter Dot Reticle (HDR) with red illuminated center dot make the Sightmark Citadel 1-10x24 HDR riflescope a sensible choice for daily short-range and mid-range hunting and shooting activities; at the same time, law enforcement professionals will appreciate the Citadel’s capability to engage critical targets at variable distances with great accuracy in urban, suburban, and rural contexts, turning your average patrol rifle into a DMR if need be.

The Sightmark Citadel 1-10x24 HDR is built around a single piece, 30mm 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy tube that’s hard-coat anodized in black to Type III specs.

The scope is 286 mm (11.26”) long overall, 58 mm (2.2”) wide and 42 mm (1.7”) high, and weighs 17.5 oz / 496.11 gr, which makes it just compact and lightweight enough to be used on most modern sporting rifles and designated marksman rifles, even more so as the scope remains compatible with all ring and cantilever-type attachments, including QD mounts.

The tube is nitrogen-purged to prevent fogging, and the Citadel 1-10x24 HDR is waterproof and dustproof to IP67 standards, as well as shockproof and recoil resistant – rated for calibers up to .50 BMG. All lenses are multi-coated to resist fogging and scratching, repel dirt, and provide acceptable light transmission levels in all environmental light conditions.

A set of capped, low-profile ½-MOA-per-click turrets allow the user to adjust the reticle on a 100-MOA range in windage and elevation, while the illumination turret also hosts the single CR2032 3V battery that powers the system, providing from 70 to 100 hours of battery life and up to eleven different illumination levels.

The parallax is factory-set at 100 yards, and the field of view (36,76 to 3,6 meters at 100 m / 110,3 to 10,8 ft at 100 yd) and exit pupil diameter make the Sightmark Citadel 1-10x24 HDR optimal for use in those shooting situations where versatility is the key.

The Sighmark Citadel 1-10x24 HDR is a cost-effective tool for sport shooting, hunting and duty activities, whose feature-rich and sturdy design offers everything it takes to appeal even to the more seasoned outdoorsmen and professionals who would normally prefer higher-tier optics.

Indeed, if the products from other optics brands can be considered the Ferrari and Maserati of the sport optics market, Sightmark products can be considered the equivalent of a Land Rover or a Ford F150: not a luxury item, but a sturdy and reliable companion that will not be afraid of a bump or scratch and will instead bear the marks of use with pride.
