Aimpoint introduces the next generation of ACRO micro red dot sights: the ACRO P-2 and ACRO C-2 sights maintain the best features of compactness and versatility that made their predecessors so popular, while introducing numerous noteworthy improvements in reliability and performance

Aimpoint of Sweden announces a revolution in hunting, sporting, and professional-oriented micro red-dot sights: the ACRO series of optics evolves with the launch of two new models offering even superior levels of performance, while retaining all the ruggedness and compactness that made the earlier version ACRO sights so popular on the international markets.

The new Aimpoint ACRO C-2 and Aimpoint ACRO P-2 micro red dot sights have been announced this week and are already in production: Aimpoint is already accepting pre-orders, and shipments are due for August 2021. Let's have a look at what's new with the ACRO Next Generation sights!

Just like the first-generation variants, the ACRO C-2 and ACRO P-2 micro red dot sights feature a 3.5 MOA LED-powered, red colored dot sight operating on the 650nm wavelength, built on a cutting-edge optical tube that's encased in a 7075-T6 lightweight aircraft-grade aluminum alloy protected by a black MIL-STD-810 compliant hard anodized finish.

The new ACRO C-2 and ACRO P-2 micro red dot sights are 47 mm long, 33 mm wide and 41 mm high (1.9" long x 1.3" wide x 1.2" high) and weigh in at barely 60 grams (2.1 oz) minus the mounting base.

Both models also offer a 15x15 mm (0.59" x 0.59") clear aperture and a 14 mm / 0.6 optical axis height measured from the top surface of the mechanical interface: perfect as either a primary or ancillary/secondary optical sight, both for handguns and long guns.

The new Aimpoint ACRO P-2 and ACRO C-2 micro red dot sights also feature a full anti-reflex coating on all optical surfaces and a multilayer coating on the objective lens; both are operationally parallax-free and offer an average light transmission ranging between 60% and 70% in the 420 - 900 nm range, depending on the model. All, with no optical signature visible at 10 meter distance, on front side and on appropriate NVD settings.

A set of unique, flip-up and flip-down lens caps, are available separately as accessories, with three different frontal finish types.

Both the Aimpoint ACRO P-2 and ACRO C-2 micro red dot sights are powered by a single CR2032 commercial battery, with the battery seat located on the left side of the chassis; by contrast, the ACRO P-1 and C-1 models use a CR1225 battery seated underneath the mounting base. This means that the users of the new generation ACRO sights won't need to remove them from their gun should they need to replace the battery.

A set of rubberized, silent digital brightness setting buttons, bign enough to be easily operated when wearing gloves, allows the user to navigate and choose between ten or eleven brightness levels, depending on the model.

Each ACRO P-2 or C-2 is also issued with a special Aimpoint T10 tool to adjust the dot for windage and elevation; the flush-fit adjustment turrets offer 20 mm at 100 m / 0.7 in at 100 yds clicks and a very crisp tactile feeling.

Improved embedded electronics and power management systems allow the Aimpoint ACRO P-2 and ACRO C-2 micro red dot sights to offer up to 50.000 hours of continuous use with the illumination set on level 6, while withstanding extreme levels of recoil and use: the design has been tested with 20.000 consecutive rounds of high-pressure .40 Smith & Wesson on a Glock handgun, with no malfunctions.

The new generation ACRO micro red dot sights from Aimpoint are available in two distinct, slightly different versions.

The Aimpoint ACRO C-2 is the commercial variant of the design, with eight daylight-compatible illumination settings for the red dot and two NVG-compatible settings; it is submersible to 5 m / 15 ft in depth and will remain operational at temperatures ranging between -30°C and +60°C (-22°F/+140°F).

The Aimpoint ACRO P-2 is the professional model for military and law enforcement sales, offering six daylight compatible dot illumination settings and four NVG-compatible modes; it is submersible up to 35 mt / 115 ft in depth and will remain operational at temperatures ranging between -45°C and +71°C (-49°F/+160°F).

All models offer industry-record degrees of resistance against vibrations, shocks, humidity, temperature shocks, as well chemical resistance against weapon cleaners, lubricant, fuels, and insect repellents.
