For the very few shooters out there who may have heard or read the word LPVO but still don’t know its meaning, LPVO stands for “Low Power Variable Optic” – a term that refers to any riflescope whose magnification range starts at a true 1x on the low end and goes up to a highest magnification of 4x, 6x, 8x at the highest end.

The modern market is undoubtedly choke full of alternatives when it comes to optics in general – and LPVOs in particular – but with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $179.99 in the United States (224.99 euro in Europe), the RapidStrike 1-6×24 is truly a budget-friendly product.
The Firefield RapidStrike 1-6×24 LPVO is manufactured around a matte black, 30mm 6061-T6 lightweight aluminum alloy, nitrogen-filled tube. Standing at 25 cm / 9.8” in overall length and weighing in at 411 grams (14.5 oz.), the Firefield RapidStrike 1-6×24 is lightweight and unobtrusive enough to be used on most modern hunting and sporting rifles and carbines.
Firefield’s RapidStrike 1-6×24 LPVO features a second focal plane circle-dot reticle with Ballistic Drop Compensation (BDC) lines.
The reticle can be illuminated in red and green; brightness is controlled by a dial that also hosts a single CR2032 3V battery as its power source, provides five different brightness settings for each color and offers up to 100 hours of continuous runtime.
A set of lockable, ½ MOA-per-click pop-up turrets allow for the reticle to be adjusted on a 100-MOA range for both windage and elevation; the magnification setting dial is located on the eyepiece, and issued with a clip-on throw lever for fast operation.
Other features of the Firefield RapidStrike 1-6×24 LPVO include fully multi-coated optical glass elements, a honeycomb front lens filter to reduce glare, and a factory-issued, matte black aluminum cantilever Picatinny rail mount.

The Firefield RapidStrike 1-6×24 low-power variable optical sight offers a field of view ranging between 34 to 6,1 mt at 100 meters (102 to 18.2 yards @100yd), and an exit pupil diameter of 14,95 to 4 mm (.6” to .2”) depending on the selected zoom level; a 101,2 mm / 4” eye relief; and a factory parallax setting of 100 yards.
It can be used at temperatures ranging between -25° and +55° C (-13° to +121° F), is IP67-rated waterproof, fog-proof, shockproof and dust-proof, and will withstand recoil up to .338 caliber.
Firefield’s RapidStrike 1-6×24 riflescope isn’t by any means a top-class entry in the LPVO market. Yet. it has surprised us for the manufacturing quality, ruggedness and accessories included in the kit. Honestly speaking, very difficult to define this riflescope "a second choice" in respect to higher priced products.
It is a solid, reliable everyday, low-intensity civilian-grade low-power variable riflescope, built to be a cost-effective training, plinking, and hunting instrument. A great choice for first-timers on a budget, who should never be forced to do without a tool that may sharpen their skills just because they can’t foot the bill.
