There was plenty to see, this year, at the Maserin cutlery stand at the 2023 SHOT Show. The Maniago (Italy)-based cutlery had four new models on display: two folding blade knives, a fixed-blade combat knife, and a sommelier sabre.

The Maserin 989 BeluM fixed blade knife was designed to commemorate Giuseppe “Belu” Maserin (1885-1972), the great-grandson of the Maserin family and a World War 1 decorated veteran. Patterned after the Italian Army assaulter’s daggers used in World War 1 and made out of modified Carcano 1891 bayonets, it is a strong, rigid knife manufactured out of N690 stainless steel, with a walnut grip and a 3D printed knob, combining high-tech materials with the work of expert craftsmen.

The Maserin 406 Energy folding knife is the result of the continuing collaboration between the Maserin cutlery and Sergio Consoli, one of Italy’s best known knifemakers. The Energy is an elegant EDC knife manufactured using top-notch materials, and patterned after the Solar design that won the “Knife collaboration of the year” award at the 2021 Blade Show.

The Maserin 410 Silver folding knife, instead, marks the beginning of a hopefully long and fruitful collaboration between the Maserin cutlery and master knifemaker Bruno Bruna, also known as “Gragciut”, a Scrimshaw master and maker of artistic fixed and folding knives. The new Maserin 410 Silver is a refined, yet simple and practical EDC folder, featuring an ELMAX steel blade, manufactured out of powdered metal and well known for its high levels of resistance against wear and corrosion.

Last, but not least, the Maserin 2000SCN14 is the Company’s latest Sabrage tool – a small sabre dedicated to the almost ritual opening of champagne bottles. The new Maserin sabre is manufactured out of black painted AISI 420 stainless steel, with a dull blade, a painted oak grip and a grapevine engraving. It comes in a wooden gift box.
