SHOT Show 2019 – FOX Knives new products include the Fox FX-536 Mini-TA, the Fox FX-535 TUR Folding knife, the Fox BF-735 Evolution Tomahawk and the Fox BF-732 Skål
Fox Knives, the Italian-based company and a well known brand among knife enthusiasts, had a plethora of new products on display at the 2019 edition of the NSSF SHOT Show in Las Vegas. Some of them are variations of pre-existing products, while most others are brand new. Let’s take a look at them.
The Fox FX-536 Mini-TA is a very interesting, and yet useful novelty – and if the name rings a bell, no, you’re not confused. The new Mini-TA is essentially a variant of the already well-known FX-535 Mini-KA from the Company itself, except with a Tanto blade replacing the original Karambit blade.
An extremely small folder, the Fox Mini-TA is merely 8 cm / 3.14” long overall when fully open, and features a bottom ring to dub as a keychain. The stainless or black-finished steel blade is 2,5 cm / 0.98” long and 2,5 mm / 0.10” thick, for an overall weight of barely 30 grams (1.05 oz).
Fox Cutlery also expands the Vox-designed TUR Folding line of knives this year with the launch of the Fox FX-535 TUR Folding knife design.
Available with a black, bright orange or olive drab green G10 grip, the Fox FX-535 TUR Folding knives feature a manually-opening N690Co 5860HRC single-edge, 7,5 cm / 2.95” blade that’s 3mm / 0.12” thick and brings the overall length of the knife to 18 cm / 7.08” when open. Conceived as an everyday carry knife, the Fox FX-535 TUR Folding knife features a deep-carry 420J2B stainless steel pocket clip and weighs in at barely 100 grams (3.52 oz).
In terms of tactical and combat products, Fox Knives teamed up with Peter Fegan to produce the Fox BF-735 Evolution Tomahawk – an ergonomically advanced tactical hawk designed to enhance user comfort and control responsiveness with a revolutionary contoured handle grip.
The Evolution Tomahawk provides what the designer Peter Fegan refers to as “unparalleled user comfort experiences” with its multi-hand position orientations and innovative design features, such as dual thumb ramps for exacting precision tasks and CNC-milled, contoured grip scales for ultimate tactility. Also issued from factory is a Kydex Clip-Lock sheath.
Last, but not least, is the Fox BF-732 Skål everyday pocket knife designed by the Company’s own Denis Simonetti.
An incospicuous EDC tool, perfect ever for those Countries where the carry of knives is restricted or at least frowned upon, the Fox BF-732 Skål knife features black or bright green G10 grips and a folding, 4 cm / 1.57” long, 3 mm / 0.12” thick, stainless steel 440C 55-57 HRC blade that will reveal a bottle opener when closed; the Fox BF-732 Skål EDC knife is barely 10,5 cm / 4.13” long overall when fully open, reaching a total weight of 40 grams (1.41 oz), and comes factory-issued with a Kydex neck sheath.
