SHOT Show 2020 – Benchmade Knives expands its catalog in 2020 with the launch of ten new folding blade, pocket models for everyday carry, professional and tactical use, self-defense, outdoors and rescue
2020 is going to be a rich year for the Oregon-based Benchmade Knives company, as their catalog expands all across the board, providing many a new alternative for everyday carry, personal defense, tactical operations, rescue, and outdoors.
In terms of everyday pocket carry, the Mini Crooked River knife stands amongst all others; hand finished and assembled by elite craftsmen, this classy knife is dressed in marbled carbon fiber handles, with Raffir Alume Yellow Moon inlays (marble and pearl pressed together in resin), and a Vinland pattern Damasteel blade.
In the same class – elegant EDC knives – the slim and classy 601 Tengu Flipper blends traditional design and modern technology in a Jared Oeser’s custom design, featuring a CPM-20CV blade and dual-colored G10 handles, as well as a black leather carry sleeve.
In terms of tactical knives, the 3400BK Autocrat automatic, out-the-front knives are designed with both speed and practicality in mind, with an olive drab or coyote tan anodized 6061-T6 aluminum frame and a double-edge dagger CPM-S30V premium stainless steel (58-60HRC) blade with DLC coating.
Another tactical knife, the 391BK SOCP Tactical Folder was designed by Greg Thompson as a first-option, battle-blade that incorporates a myriad of functional features, such as a rapid deployment ring and a tip-down carry system that allows speedy deployment from concealment, and smooth handle dimples for confident transition in hand. Featuring Benchmade's AXIS-lock technology, the SOCP Tactical Folder is also available in a trainer version.
More tactical blades for 2020 come with the 8551BK Mediator – a push-automatic model taking the best from some of the Company's legacy designs, topped with chevron-pattern G10 handles and a CPM-S90V reverse tanto blade; the 570-1 Presidio II and the 575-1 Mini Presidio II, two combat legends that wouldn't quit, featuring Benchmade's CF-Elite handle material and a CPM-S30V premium stainless steel blade, told apart only by their overall dimensions.
For outdoors and rescue or first responder uses, the new product line from Benchmade for 2020 includes the 537-GY1 Bailout – outfitted with woodland green anodized aluminum handles and a manually folding CPM-M4 Tanto blade – and the 533 Mini Bugout, available with a white or blaze orange Grivory handle and with a plain drop point, CPM-S30V satin-finished blade that is 3.7" (9,3 cm) long in its folded position and weighs barely 1.5 oz (42,5 grams).
Last, but not least, the 535-BK2 Bugout is a new, full-black version of Benchmade's own, original Bugout model re-engineered with the company's CF-Elite handle technology in a package that is barely 1.8oz (51.03g) heavy and 4.22" (10,72cm) long overall in its closed position, with a Diamond-like Carbon coated, CPM-S30V steel plain drop-point blade.
