Hogue Knives is pleased to announce the expansion of their automatic knife line to include new EX-A05 models.
The Hogue Knives EX-A05 line includes eighteen entries as of today – featuring different handle designs and blade length and surface treatment.

The EX-A05 knives are a variant of Hogue's own X5 folder, designed by renowned custom knife maker Allen Elishewitz and first launched back in 2016.

« Our X5 folder, which was introduced last year, proved to be so popular that our customers wanted to see the same unique design in an automatic version,» said Hogue managing partner and master toolmaker Jim Bruhns.
« The result is a lightning fast spring action knife that is a reliable work horse each and every time you need it.»

The EX-A05's blade is made from cryogenically heat treated CPM154 stainless steel and its edge is hand sharpened and honed for a lasting edge. Available in both spear point and modified wharncliffe styles, the blades are finished with either a tumbled stone wash or a kiln baked black Cerakote finish.

The dynamic handle of the EX-A05 is created from 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum that is hard anodized with either black, flat dark earth or olive drab green.

Optionally available on the black models is an inlay of Hogue's G-Mascus Black G10 with their mini-piranha grip texture for added traction and superior comfort.

The precisely designed recesses and curvature of the knife offer a natural, ergonomic grasp when in use. The EX-A05 includes an ambidextrous tip-up pocket clip designed for every day deep pocket carry.

The key to the Hogue auto knife’s reliability and performance, explained Bruhns, has been its proprietary music wire spring, developed specifically for Hogue Knives by famed spring maker Wolff Gunsprings.

Fast blade deployment, a rock-solid lockup, precision engineering and extreme reliability under all conditions are hallmarks of the Hogue auto knife.

« We’re delivering an automatic knife that will last for years,» said Bruhns. « It will fire with the same authority on the first or the 10,000th deployment

Every Hogue knife is made in the USA and is backed by three generations of manufacturing expertise and a limited lifetime warranty.

The Hogue Knives EX-A05 models are already available for purchase in the United States, at a manufacturer's suggested retail price ranging from a minimum of $229.95 (approx. 201€) up to a maximum of $279.95 (approx. 245€). Price on the international market will vary.

Due to laws governing the purchase, owning, and transportation of automatic knives – both in the United States, at a State and Federal level, and abroad – Hogue's automatic knives are not available for purchase on the Company website and will be sold only through authorized dealers.
