We worked almost two years on this project” states CEO Nicola Bandini “and the results are staggering. For the first time in history, we are now handling an aircraft alloy hybrid/split case intended for a large, powerful intermediate caliber such as the venerable 12,7x99/.50 BMG” continues Bandini.

Modern CNC technology, alloys which were not available until only 20 years ago plus a thoughtful design, allowed to manufacture a split-case without the use of heavy and expensive step-presses, which are producing these large calibers since the night of times. We dared to break the rules and we succeeded in finding what we can really call the rebirth of a legend, the 12,7x99” empathizes Bandini.

The new technology allows the manufacturing of a case with tolerances and concentricity which goes beyond match grade, or to a level we are absolutely not used to” concludes Nicola Bandini.

But Blackwater Ammunition is fully aware that the true revolution of the new .50 BMG designs resides in the weight factor: the new super alloy case is about half the weight of the parent brass ancestor, procuring in turn up to 35% total round weight reduction, depending on the bullet used.

As stated by the company CEO, this is a clear revolutionary element for all airborne operations: any gunship, helicopter or simply logistic air support in ammunition supply, thanks to the new BWA .50 BMG rounds will be granted up to 35% more ammunition availability and supply per any given bullet.

Blackwater Ammunition has tested the new super alloy case 12,7x99/.50 BMG in many configurations and in various manual and semiautomatic firearms, while the full auto performance is currently under way, with different bullet configurations.

The results are extremely encouraging, having tested the new and revolutionary case beyond any reasonable pressure levels, exceeding 70.000 psi.

Currently, Blackwater Ammunition is offering the 12,7x99/.50 BMG as a complete round only, introducing 2 new bullet designs made of solid Copper Alloy: a 600 gr Infinite Point Solid (IFS) sporting an extremely high bullet coefficient and very low drag for long range shots, and a 770 gr Solid Bullet, reproducing ballistic performances of a classic .50 loading.

To Government Agencies and Military-Law Enforcement entities, Blackwater Ammunition also offers an M33 standard Ball round as per NATO specs, with bullet weight ranging between 650 and 710 gr, as well as AP, API and Tracer variants.

Finally, a number of Patent Pending revolutionary .50 caliber bullet design are currently under intensive testing. Further Press Releases will be circulated soon.
