The year 2020 marks the 150th anniversary of Marlin Firearms, one of America's best-known gunmakers. To celebrate its sesquicentennial, the Company had two brand new products on display at the SHOT Show, in Las Vegas – modern twists to a timeless classic that made history in firearms design.

The Marlin Dark Series lever-action rifles, first announced in 2019, offer the speed and accuracy of Marlin's well-known lever action blacked-out and tricked out for the modern hunter. The Marlin Dark Series rifles feature a stealthy-tough matte black parkerized finish and a black-webbed hardwood stock/forend, with a host of performance enhancements, including a threaded barrel, big-loop lever and XS Lever Rail with ghost ring peep that also accommodates a wide variety of optics.

Two variants of the Marlin Dark Series rifles are available: the Model 336 Dark in .30-30 Winchester; and the Model 1895 Dark in .45/70 Government; both sport a 5+1 rounds capacity, a 16.25" (41,2 cm) barrel and an overall length of 34.5" (87,6 cm); they basically differ only in muzzle thread pitch (5/8"x24 for the 336, 11/16"x24 for the 1895).

The Marlin Model 1895-410, with a fast-handling lever-action that packsquite a punch and offers fast follow-up capabilities against quick-moving small game like squirrel and rabbit.

Available in the user's choice of fixed open choke and flush choke tubes including improved, light modified and full, the Marlin Model 1895-410 features a 22"/55cm barrel, an American black walnut straight gun stock and a polished blue finish on all metal surfaces, as well as a semi-buckhorn rear sight and a fiber-optic front sight. The tubular magazine holds five .410-gauge, 2.5" shells.
