Brownells, the world's biggest e-commerce platform dedicated to gun parts, firearms-related accessories, and other goods useful to hunters, sport shooters, and gun enthusiasts at large, announced on November 9 that its already vast catalogue has been expanded to include complete guns, which Brownells will be selling online on its website.

For 75 years, Brownells has been a trusted source for gunsmithing supplies, gun parts and – very recently – ammunition as well. In  early 2017, the company opened a 7000 sq.ft. / 650 m² retail store in the city of Grinnell, in their home State of Iowa, where guns are today sold alongside the same parts and accessories that Brownells sells on-line.

As of now, the Brownells firearms catalogue includes over 3000 models from 35 brands – including all the world's most important gunmakers. And those numbers are bound to rise in the near future.

Brownells will still not ship firearms directly to their customers: in compliance with U.S. laws, customers will be able to order and pay for a gun on the Brownells website but will have to select an authorized FFL dealer where the firearm will be picked up and where the customers will have to undergo NICS background checks and any other mandatory red tape dictated by local or State laws.

If you ask us, it's no case if the announcement was given on 11/9 – the same day of Donald Trump's election as the 45th President of the United States. Although, according to our sources, Brownells started to gear up many months ago for this step, it's likely that the company wanted to wait the outcome of the presidential election before making an official announcement.

As gunsweek.com learned from its sources, the United States of America are not the only Country where Brownells intends to distribute complete guns: we can expect several of its European branches to start offering firearms by 2017. Of course, Brownells may not sell directly to public and customers would have to pick up their guns at their local gun shop.

That's good news for the market, as Brownells is an authoritative and solid name that will make the difference when it comes to meet the needs and demands of both American and European shooters; and excellent news for gun enthusiasts, who will now have one more choice in an already vast market and may even enjoy better pricing in the future.
