SHOT Show 2023 – Winchester Ammunition expands its already vast lineup of hunting, sporting and defensive ammo loads, including a dedicated series of M1 Garand .30-06, a series of close animal defense loads, and new entries in the USA Valor series
Winchester Ammunition, one of the world’s best known manufacturers of commercial and professional ammunition, had its new products for 2023 on display at SHOT Show, and among those, the .30-06 Winchester M1 Garand line definitely caught our attention. As its own name suggests, this is a new, dedicated .30-06 Springfield load sold in 20-rounds boxes specifically for collectible M1 Garand rifles.
Many old-production M1 Garand rifles are still out there in the hands of hunters, sportsmen, and collectors worldwide. As old as they may be, they can still kick out at the range or on the field, but not all of them may endure the high pressures generated by modern-day .30-06 Springfield loads. Winchester now allows owners of those old M1 Garand rifles to keep them up and running with a new, reduced-pressure load featuring slow-burning powder and 150-grains M2 ball.
Also new are the Winchester Big Bore loads in pistol and revolver calibers – .44 Magnum, 10mm Auto, .357 Magnum and .45 Long Colt specifically – conceived for hunting, personal protection, and short-range defense against large predators. Winchester’s Big Bore centerfire pistol offerings feature a newly engineered semi-jacketed, concave hollow point that controls and delays expansion to achieve massive shock and lethal wound channels. Available in the pistol calibers popularly carried in the backcountry, Big Bore ammunition was designed to offer consistent expansion, massive energy deposit and most importantly, trusted functioning.
Finally, the Winchester USA Valor line expands with the launch of new loads in .300 AAC Blackout, 12-gauge No.7.5 and No.8, and 20-gauge No.7.5. Sales of Winchester’s USA Valor ammunition help support Folds of Honor, a charitable organization that provides life-changing scholarships to the families of fallen US warfighters and first responders.
