SIG Sauer entered the ammunition market two years ago, with a selection of commercial calibers and loads. This year, the SIG Sauer Elite Performance ammunition line grows up, and see the introduction of revolver calibers also.
New SIG Sauer .38 Super +P Elite Performance Ammunition
The new SIG Sauer .38 Super +P ammunition comes in two choices: the 125gr .38 Super +P Elite Performance Ammunition in V-Crown™ jacketed hollow point (JHP) and the SIG FMJ full metal jacket loads. With a muzzle velocity of 1230 feet per second, the 125gr .38 Super +P ammunition delivers exceptional accuracy and reliability.
The SIG V-Crown load features a proprietary stacked hollow point bullet for reliable, uniform expansion and optimal terminal performance. DUCTA–BRIGHT 7A™ coated brass cases also provide enhanced lubricity, offering superior corrosion resistance, and more reliable feeding and extraction in semi-automatic pistols.
The SIG FMJ premium target loads feature solid brass cases and durable, copper-jacketed bullets that remain intact on impact. The precise, uniform profile of the SIG FMJ bullets results in maximum accuracy and consistency. Dependable primers and clean-burning powders are used for reduced barrel fouling with more reliable functioning.
New SIG Sauer .38 Special, .44 S&W Special and .45 Colt Elite Performance Ammunition
Following the growing proliferation of small frame revolvers for personal defense, SIG Sauer has decided to introduce three new revolver ammunition for personal defense in .38 Special, .44 S&W Special and .45 Colt calibers.
All three calibers are available in the SIG V-Crown jacketed hollow point (JHP) round of Elite Performance Ammunition in the following bullet weights: 125gr .38 Special with a muzzle of velocity of 900 fps; 240gr .44 S&W Special with a muzzle velocity of 800 fps; and 230gr .45 Colt with a muzzle velocity of 950 fps.
SIG Sauer proprietary V-Crown stacked hollow point is especially effective for personal defense, delivering maximum accuracy, reliable, uniform expansion and optimal terminal performance. DUCTA–BRIGHT 7A™ coated brass cases also provide enhanced lubricity and superior corrosion resistance.
The .38 Special is also available in SIG FMJ full metal jacket target loads with solid brass cases and durable, copper-jacketed bullets designed specifically for practice and competition shooting.
The precise, uniform profile of the SIG FMJ bullets results in maximum accuracy and consistency, while dependable primers and clean burning powders are used for reduced barrel fouling with more reliable functioning.
New SIG Sauer .357 Magnum and .44 Rem Mag Elite Performance Ammunition for Hunting
The SIG Sauer revolver ammunition line has been integrated also by two new rounds in .357 Magnum and .44 Remington Magnum calibers, both of them with SIG V-Crown jacketed hollow point (JHP) hunting bullets. The .357 Magnum is available in 125gr V-Crown with a muzzle velocity of 1450 fps, while the .44 Remington Magnum V-Crown features a 240gr bullet with a muzzle velocity of 1300 fps.
The .357 Magnum and .44 Remington Magnum calibers are quite popular with handgun hunters, and these powerful, accurate rounds are excellent for hunting mid-sized game. The SIG V-Crown stacked hollow point cavity delivers exceptional on-target energy with maximum weight retention and optimal expansion.
DUCTA–BRIGHT 7A™ coated brass cases also provide enhanced lubricity, offering superior corrosion resistance, and more reliable feeding and extraction.
New SIG Sauer SIG HT™ 300BLK Supersonic Ammunition for Hunting
Looking again at the hunting segment, SIG Sauer has introduced also a new supersonic 300BLK Elite Performance Ammunition round designed specifically for hunting. The SIG HT™ 300BLK cartridge features a 120gr all-copper bullet that delivers deep penetration, consistent 1.8X expansion and maximum terminal ballistic performance, creating an effective hunting round in the 300BLK caliber.
The muzzle velocity of this 120gr, lead-free supersonic round is 2,250 fps from a 16-inch barrel rifle with muzzle energy of 1,349 ft-lbs. Excellent for hunting deer, pigs and predators, the new SIG HT centerfire rifle ammunition gives those who hunt with 300BLK rifles an edge in the field. Its all-copper bullet profile and nose geometry are optimized for feeding smoothly in AR-style rifles.
The SIG HT cartridges are made with newly designed premium nickel-plated 300BLK shell cases, not reworked 5.56 cases, and SIG Sauer uses flash-reduced propellant to minimize visible signature while shooting in low-light situations. Premium quality primers are also used to minimize variations in velocity. In the coming months SIG Sauer will also introduce a 220gr subsonic 300BLK hunting round in addition to new rifle ammunition in a variety of other calibers.
