New Winchester Deer Season XP ammunition in .25-06 Remington and .450 Bushmaster
Winchester Deer Season XP hunting ammunition line grows this year with the addition of the classic .25-06 Remington and the increasingly popular .450 Bushmaster
Since 2015, deer and other big game hunters have been discovering first-hand the incredible effectiveness of the Deer Season XP loads by Winchester. Deer Season XP has developed a strong following among deer hunters who love the large diameter polymer-tipped bullet that reliably delivers devastating terminal performance.
Offered in 15 of the most popular deer and big game hunting calibers across North America and Europe, the Deer Season XP line now includes two new chamberings: a 117-grain .25-06 Remington load and a heavy 250-grain .450 Bushmaster load.
.25-06 Remington, standardized in 1969 after half a century of existence as a wildcat based on the .30-06 Springfield case, is a high-velocity classic ammunition for deer hunting capable of reaching up to 2,990 ft/s (910 m/s) of muzzle energy out of a 24-inch barrel in a 120-grain load.
The .450 Bushmaster is instead set to become a modern-day classic among hunting cartridges, having been specifically conceived for hunting uses of AR-15 type rifles and carbines and other modern sporting and hunting firearm platforms.
Highlights of Winchester Deer Season XP line of ammunition include:
- Bigger Tip. Bigger Impact® – The large-impact-diameter design expands immediately upon contact to deliver the energy needed to transfer massive knockdown power
- Accuracy – Deer Season XP is extremely accurate due to its Extreme Point® polymer tip, tapered bullet jacket and a precision swaged lead core
- Price – This combination of high-tech performance is delivered at a value price
« Winchester continues to make Deer Season XP available to even more hunters as they take to the woods in pursuit of our nation’s most popular big-game animal,» said Matt Campbell, vice president of marketing and sales for Winchester Ammunition.
