In 2021, Timney Triggers celebrates its 75th anniversary; as the oldest and largest trigger manufacturer in the world, Timney has firmly established itself as an aftermarket supplier favored by hunters and sport shooters worldwide, and in 2021 the company celebrates a new chapter with the introduction of the Alpha Competition Series of aftermarket triggers.

The first entry in the line is dedicated to Glock Gen.3 and Gen.4 pistols, revolutionizing the trigger of the world's most proven pistol and allowing Timney to respond to a market's decades-long request for a Glock trigger that would match the reliability of the notorious Austrian pistol with the feel and performance of a racegun trigger.

The original Glock trigger design made such a feat unfeasible in the past, as all shooters know all too well: a standard Glock trigger pulls the firing pin slightly back before each shot, leading to a distinctively creepy and spongy feel.

Many aftermarket trigger manufacturers tried to reduce the creeping feel in the past through the use of friction-reducing coatings on connectors or by polishing parts; now, in 2021, Timney capitalizes on their 75 years of experience in trigger-making to offer a revolutionary solution.

With a newly designed receiver unit in the trigger housing, the Timney Alpha Competition trigger keeps the Glock's firing pin fully cocked, allowing a clean 3 pound (1,36 kg) break without creep when the shot is fired. Along with the shortened take up, a newly developed trigger return spring, and an anodized aluminum straight trigger, the Alpha Competition system offers real Match-grade features to Glock shooters.

Team Glock Captain and multiple US champion Shane Coley was directly involved in the development of the Timney Alpha Competition trigger; which is expected to be received warmly by sport shooters – particularly those competition shooters who have been less than happy with stock Glock triggers for decades.

The installation of the Alpha Competition trigger is pretty straightforward, with its drop-in design requiring nothing more than a pin punch or a Glock tool to install in lieu of the factory trigger; pull weight is not adjustable, and as with all aftermarket trigger, professional installation, albeit not strictly necessary, is always recommended.

What's potentially even more important is that the Timney Alpha Competition trigger does not affect the original safety features of the Glock trigger and firing pin, keeping Glock's legendary safety status intact.

According to the manufacturer, the Alpha Competition trigger – mostly manufactured from original Glock nickel Teflon-coated parts – passed a 10.000-rounds endurance test with no malfunction in its development state.

The first Timney Alpha Competition series triggers will fit the Glock 17, 17L, 19, 22, 25, 34, 34 and 35 Gen.3 pistols, and the Glock 17, 19, 22,23 34 and 35 Gen.4 pistols. Other models, including variants for Glock Gen.5 pistols, will follow in the future.

The Timney Alpha Competition series trigger is available in the U.S. at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $149.99; in Europe, it will be made available by Timney distributor Ferkinghoff International of Germany, starting Q2 2021, at a price of 199.95€ including VAT.
