First launched a few years ago by Caldwell Shooting Supplies – a brand of the US-based Battenfeld Technologies, Inc. group – the XLA bipod provide a stable shooting support that conveniently attaches to almost any firearm with a sling swivel stud.

The baseline Caldwell XLA bipod features a connection point for sling attachment and multi section legs that collapses forward allowing for convenient carry of the firearm, and is available in standard and pivoting models. But pivoting models can still be valid for hunters and shooters who are fond with classic firearm designs, and may need compensate for ground that is not level by up to 20 degrees for particularly different shots

The same can not be said instead for those shooters who own and operate modern sporting, hunting and defensive rifles and carbines – whose designs, more often than not, do without the classic sling swivel studs in favour of MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rails or other attachment systems such as KeyMod or M-LOK.

Caldwell answered to these modern needs with the launch of a new model, the Pic Rail XLA Fixed Bipod – a folding bipod featuring an adjustable cam lever lock for quick deployment on or off any Picatinny rails.

Two versions of the Caldwell Pic Rail XLA Fixed Bipod are available: the 6"-9" variant can extend between 15 cm and 22 cm in height, with its legs extending up to 3.¼", while the 9"-13" variant can extend between 22 cm and 33 cm in overall height, its legs extending up to 4.½".

Those two versions, otherwise identical, offer a broad range of adjustment in height and allow shooters to find their ideal shooting position either on a bench or from the prone position.

Manufactured out of hard-anodized aluminum alloy, with quick deployment spring loaded legs and soft rubber feet for enhanced stability, the Caldwell Pic Rail XLA Fixed Bipod is comfortable and extremely lightweight; being collapsible for transport, it can be left on your gun without taking too much room in your safe.

The Caldwell Pic Rail XLA Fixed Bipod is currently available on the U.S. market at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $44.99 for both models; that's about 38.22€ at the current exchange rate, but export pricing may vary.
