Manufactured in France and developed in close collaboration with a team of seasoned hunters, the 4 Stable Stick line of hunting rifle supports are perfect for both mountain or driven hunt, and among the world's most solid and versatile products in this segment
Portable shooting rests – monopods, shooting sticks, collapsible bipods, and the like – are often overlooked by some "traditional" hunters, who see them as more fitting for sport shooters and long-range target shooters than for hunters. But nonetheless, they can prove to be an essential accessory in mountain hunt – both stalking and driven – particularly when dealing with the need of accurate, long-range shots to take down hard preys such as deer or elk.
4 Stable Stick is a French company, headquartered in the city of Bordeaux, whose products are born out of a lucky meeting between passion for hunting as a sport and a penchant for perfection. Years of research and development, carried on with a team of seasoned hunters, allowed the company to develop a line of lightweight shooting canes that are easily broken down for transportation and just as easily deployed, increasing your chance for a clean shot and kill with two cross-support axes (on the gun and on the ground) that will prevent the gun from drifting horizontally and will totally eliminate unwanted movement due to weather conditions and terrain, before and during the shot, in compliance with the hunting ethics.
Manufactured out of 6060-T6 or 7075-T6 lightweight aluminum alloy with fiberglass-reinforced nylon components, the 4 Stable Stick shooting canes are easily transported without causing excessive hassle to the hunter. A leader in the field, the French company currently offers five variants of the design.
The Bush Stick – also available in the Ultimate Carbon version, mostly manufactured out of carbon fiber as a replacement for aluminum alloy – weighs barely 820 grams (28.9 oz) and can be broken down in four components to be used as a shooting rest or walking cane, providing full support for a hunting rifle both from the handguard and the stock. The Bush Stick can be adjusted up to 170 cm (5.57 ft) in height.
The Bush Light is a variant of the Bush Stick, mostly identical except for the overall weight brought down to 575 grams overall (20.28 oz) through the use of fiberglass-reinforced nylon for 30% of the overall construction.
The 550 grams (19.4 oz) Mountain Stick can be broken down to eight components and offers a wider adjustment angle, from 130 cm to 180 cm (4.26 to 5.9 ft) in height and much mode in width, providing a stable rifle rest for standing or kneeling shooting positions and offering several specific slope positions that will offer a stable shooting support even on typically uneven mountain terrain.
Last, the Montéria Stick is a variant of the 4 Stable Stick design specifically conceived for driven hunt; it is composed of one single piece and rests on a single leg, making it easy to change aiming direction very quickly while remaining perfectly stable. Thanks to a new adjustment system, the Montéria Stick is easy to adapt to each type of shooting situation, as well as to the hunter's build, from 75 cm to 165 cm (2.46 to 5.4 ft) in height. The overall weight of the Montéria stick tops 360 grams (12.69 oz): a bliss to carry around all day.
The market is full with shooting sticks and foldable rests conceived for hunters, but not many can claim the same level of manufacturing quality, durability, stability, ease of deployment, and price-to-quality ratio as the 4 Stable Stick line of shooting canes. We do recommend them.
